  • Hi, I’m Diana. How did I get here? Well, my mother always said I would be either a teacher or an artist… I never really believed her. I guess mother does know best. I thought I would be a marine biologist or a lawyer… I’m glad I was wrong, I really can’t imagine doing anything else. There is just something about capturing fleeting moments, and knowing you’ve made them more permanent – long after memories fail and we have moved on to new moments. I was lucky enough to have a very talented photographer in the family, my father. Amateur sure, but friends often comment how they wish they had pictures like mine of their childhoods – their moments recorded.
My father gave me my first camera when I was 14, an Olympus OM 10. Great little camera. That was the start of a hobby that back then I never imagined would develop into such a fun and interesting career. I put that camera on a shelf many times for a newer, more automated model...none of those cameras stood the test of time, but I still have that old Olympus.
I am drawn to color, to emotion – I’m drawn to what makes people who they are. I want to capture what makes you unique.

    Because we all are.

I’ve lived in Austin since I was 11… and let’s just say that is a long time ;) I wish I could say I was a native austinite – but my actual austinite friends might (definitely would) protest. I was born in Houston, and I still try to get down there at least once a year for my favorite bad for me food ever, James Coney Island hotdogs. I love inky, jammy red wines (Napa is my heaven), I am addicted to and have a more than mild obsession with fancy salts. I love to cook, read and I am a little bit of a True Blood junkie (the books and the series). I also love Modern Family, Californication, Game of Thrones and Dexter. I make a dangerously good bloody mary. I love my friends (and family, of course!). Seriously. I love them. I’m a foodie and I am so thankful that I have other foodie girlfriends who love finding new amazing restaurants to go to – no matter where we are in the world. And that leads me to – I LOVE to travel. Next on my list are Ireland and Iceland. I may be going to Iceland alone though as no one else has shown much interest!! I have shot destination weddings in Mexico, Aruba, Turks and Caicos (one of my favorite places!), Crested Butte, Napa, Jamaica, Florida and Oregon. I’m still hoping for Europe and Maine (love Maine). I am a little more than a touch OCD about my photo editing. I love dogs. I have too many. Aries and Earl, my first dog loves, are a young 14 and 15. Cajun, my token beagle, was next and he’s 4… then there is Boz (Bozaroni) who was the first pug to come thru Pug Rescue Austin – and my foster failure. I volunteer for the rescue as their ‘staff photographer’ and as a foster mom.

Oh, and my favorite movie is Love Actually. Which would seem to mean I’m kind of a romantic….some people who know me may find that surprising. Maybe that’s why I love what I do… I love capturing the real emotion (romance?) of weddings. I guess I’m a little bit of a softie after all. Don’t tell.
