Here are some of my images from day 1 and 2... |

August 8th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Alicia and Rob the Day After |
so we were lucky enough to get to do a session the day after the wedding - and we were trying to get to a natural pool next to the ocean about an hours drive, pretty much off road. we never actually got to the pool because there were too many other cool places to stop at along the long and bouncy road and we were losing light...but we got some great stuff without it. you would definitely not call rob a sunday driver - stacy was glad the roof to the jeep was soft ;) |

this was all stacy... we looked at her like she was crazy when she wanted to use it...so funny, i should have known - it's so her. turned out quite nice :) |
and for the 'trash the dress' segment of the evening.... the sun had set we just had a little bit of twilight to work with... love it. |

August 5th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Alicia and Rob in ARUBA! |
whew! that was a long run of traveling... Aruba was so great - but i am glad to be home for a while. This was my second time in Aruba, I was there last year assisting Stacy of SMS photography for Carissa and Ed's wedding . pretty island, hard to get to though from texas - although we managed to find flights this time that were only 2 stops each this time instead of 3. This time it was my wedding and Stacy came along and assisted me, we had a great time and it was fun for us to be there again since we learned a little about it last time we were there together. Alicia and Rob, like Carissa and Ed, are also from New York. Aruba maybe is like Playa Del Carmen or Cancun for us Texans. The ceremony was at a church in town and the reception was on the Renaissance Hotel's private island - really beautiful. the flamingos didn't hang out as much this year (no food to buy to feed them!) but i managed to get a few shots with them... the reception was crazy, i knew these guys had it in them but wow...they did not disappoint. i will post images from the day after session in a couple of days - we got so many great couple portraits on this trip, i'm having a hard time picking for the blog posts... |
i love when brides have colored shoes!! these were awesome and added so much to the images... good choice Alicia! |
we just had to go back to our spot in the entry to the renaissance casino bathroom :) |
i love this shot!! she looks like a manequin... or a barbie... and really, the shoes make it! |

love the quirky looks on the ringbearers!! |
the little guy on the right pretty much had this look on his face the whole time... it cracked me up. |
you may not be able to tell in this small blog sized image - but there is a billboard in the background (behind girls in yellow) that says "TEXAS" on it... i zoomed in close and can't read what's around it so i have no idea what the point of the billboard was...but found it interesting enough to mention ;) |
come on, how hot are they? and again, the shoes!! |
i finally got him to smile!! |
this shot is fairly chaotic. i like it. |
oh those elusive birds... |
there were hermit crabs EVERYWHERE on the island that night..you had to be careful not to step on them! |
some of the craziness i spoke of ;) |

July 17th, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Brooks!! |
nope, i typically don't do baby shoots...however, how can i say no to the son of the very first boy i kissed!? (sorry Teal ;) ) yep, Brooks is the 9 month old baby of that very boy... 7th grade i think it was - i actually shot his wedding too, a few years back. Our parents are still very close friends. So, i was excited to get to meet Brooks. He was such a sweetie from the get-go... he made the cutest face ever when i first met him - puckers his lip like he is pouting because he gets shy around new people. He never cried the whole time... and hour and a half - which is really long for a baby shoot. |
baby's best friend... |
not sure if he was roaring like a lion or what here... but it made for a good shot nonetheless... |
he wanted a closer look at my camera... |
awww, look at those eyes! |
the lip... no way to resist that...broke my heart.. |
