there is going to be more added to this post but i leave for new orleans in the morning for a few days and i have got to go pack!! i got thru as many as i could for now and when i get back i will finish up. what can i say about this amazing wedding... it's one of those that as a photographer you dream about being hired to shoot... so unique, so many fun details and locations... incredible couple, family and friends. i could go on forever about how much i loved this wedding but i'll stop there :) the fabulous Gina of Clink was the coordinator and it was her vision that made this event what it was - spectacular. the glass ballroom at Lakeway Resort was transformed into a Willy Wonka inspired fantasyland complete with a chocolate river and mountains of candy (i was on a sugar high for the first 2 hours of the reception!!). My girls Heather of Eclectic Images and Stacy of SMS Photography came along to assist me on this very full day of photography (we shot for 11.5 hours!). We needed 3 people with the party barges, speedboats and tons of details that needed shooting... there was never a dull moment. Amy of Merveille was the florist and she did an amazing job of translating what the client was looking for into what you see here... i know it had to be quite a task and she did it beautifully. the Spazmatics played the reception - you will see some of this in the second part of the post - they are so fun! Bob from Wild Parrot was the videographer and we all had a lot of fun working together.

i should say more about april and joel, like I LOVE THEM!! we had a blast doing their engagements - they dressed up like grease for them... that was a first for me. you can see them here. i will post some of april's bridals after i post this... we shot them at Hotel St. Cecila on south congress - amazing hotel and such a great place to shoot.

april and joel are such an amazing couple (i feel like i have said amazing a lot in this post, but i can't help it!) and i am so thankful they chose me and i got to work with them on their wedding. i wish you both all the happiness in the world, you deserve it. it was an honor to spend the day with you, your family and your friends.

rings on a nerds rope... why didn't they have the rope when i was a kid? we only had boxed nerds... which i loved, but these were even better!

it's such a great compliment when a family hires you for more than one wedding. I shot Daniel's sister Susan's (Susan and Zac's wedding blog post here) wedding last year and i was excited to head out to the house in Pipe Creek for Daniel and Stacy's wedding with so many familiar faces. it was a great time just as i expected - and the 'nose glasses' made an appearance once again! Daniel broke the pinata and the kids were hording candy any place they could find... and one of the ringbearers had an 'American Beauty' moment after the rose petal exit..what more could you ask for :)

I had so much fun with Heather and Chris on their engagement session (click here to see them) and Heather's bridals were no different. Her parents came along, and they are a blast. Dad even dressed up in a tux for a few pics. We shot at the Zilker Botanical Gardens, it was threatening rain the whole time...so we incorporated the umbrella into the shoot :) we lucked out and it never did more than sprinkle... I am looking forward to the wedding on july 4th!!

Meredith and Eric drove down from Dallas for this shoot and we were really fighting with the weather and where to do it - we decided about 45 minutes before the shoot to chance it and try to do it outdoors and it was pouring down rain as i drove down mopac to meet them... i thought for sure we were out of luck. Their wedding is May 16th so we didn't have any time to reschedule! we got really lucky, and the rain stopped and clouds started to clear...and it ended up being really beautiful... i am so glad we didn't give up!!

I was looking forward to shooting Christa's wedding - it was at Green Pastures, my best friend's kids were the flowergirl and ringbearer (Christa's niece and nephew)...and i have known Christa for a long time....so it felt like shooting for family. i had only met Jeremy a couple of times before, he's a great guy and i know Christa's side of the family is so happy to have him as their newest member! Heather Mabry of Eclectic Images came along as my second shooter and we had fun shooting together again. Everything looked beautiful - Jeremy's mom was saying that the ceremony location looked like a 'fairytale' ... with the soft light from the clouds... trees wrapped in blue lights and hanging flowers ...peacocks making their peacock sounds in the background...i tend to agree with her!

awww Peep... such a good flowergirl... her real name is Kate... but i have called her Peep since she came home from the hospital...she doesn't like it and has taken to calling me Lamp Post to get me back ;)

Bubbie (aka Rylan) looked so cute all dressed up just like the guys!! he wasn't thrilled with taking pictures.. but i managed to get a few...

love this couple!! they are getting married on October 17th at One World Theatre... it's going to be a very unique wedding and i am really looking forward to it. Robin and Huey had a list of places that were sentimental for them... or that they knew would be good backdrops for this session... we walked all around downtown and had a blast. here are just a few...

I LOVED my wedding last Saturday.... it was in Houston at Ouisie's Table (the food was awesome!!). the ceremony was in their courtyard and it was perfect, great light, intimate and beautiful details... as a photographer i couldn't ask for more... I had spent some time with Alison and Peter shooting their engagements (you can see them here) so they were comfortable with the camera and were great models! Kelly of Eventology coordinated day of - it was my first time working with her and we had a great time! i look forward to getting to work with her again. My good friend Heather of Eclectic Images came along as my second shooter and it was great to get to work with her again, we have a lot of fun shooting together and it's fun to see how we each interpret a wedding - you can see her blog post from this wedding here .

yay! i was picked by my fabulous Knot brides to be in The Knot's 'best of' magazine again this year! I really appreciate everyone who threw my name in the hat, it's a great honor. The magazine is on newstands now, so check it out!

My wedding last saturday was at the bride's father's private home in Lago Vista, TX. it was a perfect setting for a wedding (i love weddings at people's houses!) and the weather couldn't have been better either. Stacey Hogge of Petal Pushers did the flowers and Courtney Caplan of Caplan Miller coordinated. Julie and Jeremy were both so excited to get married - it was pretty cute :) From the mini grilled cheese sandwiches to the smores bar, nothing was missed. they even had John John the Butler there to make sure everything went smoothly. i hope you guys are having a great time on your honeymoon and make it to an internet cafe to check out this post!

Here are a few pics of my new niece - Callie Ann Ohls - or Pie Pie Rosebud, as my nephew has named her (and i love it, i will call her that forever!). She was born on March 19th... such a cute girl. right now she is sleeping all day long and keeping mom up all night...my sister is not so excited about that... i was over last night and took these...
