A few weeks ago i went out to volunteer at the Sara Sanctuary in Seguin, Texas with some friends from Pug Rescue Austin. Since i can't say it better than they did on their website i will copy their mission statement: "what is SARA's mission? SARA's mission: love, life, food, shelter Southern Animal Rescue Association, SARA, provides homeless companion animals with unconditional life - food, shelter, love and life in a permanent, safe, and healthy environment, despite special health needs or temperament. We seek loving adoptive homes for our animals, but when adoption is impossible, the animals live the rest of their natural lives at the sanctuary in the company of other animals and human caregivers. " what a great time we had, and what an interesting place! i have to admit, i spent most of my time taking pictures instead of any doing real work. we were there for most of the day and i had a really hard time narrowing down images for this blog post. Here are some of my favorites and i'll elaborate more on individual images... P.S. Tracy just gave me an update after seeing my post: the pig with the cats has since slimmed down and been moved to a pen with a pig friend. the pit bull kristen is wrangling has been neutered. the little black puppy has been adopted! and so have the donkeys, they are now living with a zebra! |
